Curtis Youngbloods New Flybar...or ..... Less Total G unit Answers...

The Total G does not have any 'receivers' in it. At least one satellite is needed.

It can take up to three satellites, Not sure 3 are necessary but are recommended for 90 size machines. The primary plugs into the end of the unit and secondaries are on each side.

It works with JR / Spectrum and now Futaba receivers.

All the channels have the same power bus. If you plan to run the cyclics on 8.4 volts, you need a drop down for tail servos that cannot handle the higher voltage.

I have to check again on the absolute maximum voltage but I know it will take at least 10V with no issues.

It is also basically a 10+ channel unit that can be used on anything from a 450 to a 90.

Using the feedback from the governor!

The total G takes in info and uses all of it to help get the best flight performance.

As for the "different flight modes" in flight, I assume you are talking about the "banking" kind of system that V-bar uses. We are using a different logic from V-bar. They have you do everything in the V-bar, so if you want to adjust things you need to land and adjust the unit. In flight you can switch between these flight modes within their unit. But you have to land and hook up some kind of interface to change anything about those modes.

The Total G does not work that way, there is a basic underlying program within the total G that makes sure the machine flys consistent, straight and locks in the heading you have it on. Then to change the feel of the machine between flight modes you just change your expos or travels within your radio like you would with any other helicopter. Also unlike other systems you can change the gain of the Flight control and gyro or the RPM of the governor from your radio on the fly. Again like a normal heli setup. So you do not need to land to change them.

We are using a different, and I think simpler/more intuitive logic in the Total G.

The flight control side is very easy to navigate and program with a G-View and instructions easy to follow. The ATG and Mini-G side is the same as you would see if you are familiar with there programing using a G-View. Flight control side terminology is very similar and easy to understand. Best of all you do not need a laptop.
The governor will help you get all the best power out of the system. But you do not have to use it.

The Total G can work with any of the parts being turned off. It is a flight control, gyro, and governor. At the moment I have the flight control turned off and using just the gyro and governor in my flybared machine. In my little raves I have the governor off and only using the flight control and gyro. There are a lot of options.

The Total G is compatible with external receivers. With the spektrum version of the Total G you get all the channels, Aileron, Elevator, Rudder, Throttle, Collective plus three gain channels. All of which can be adjusted from the transmitter.

If you use an external receiver you only lose one gain channel. But you can adjust what function the other two channels adjust. So if you want to start adjusting Flight Control and gyro you can set those as your two gains. And adjust in flight. You can then change the selection to governor and adjust it instead of one of the other two from the transmitter. Or you can adjust any of them on the ground through the Total G itself using either a button G-view or a computer.

So in the end you get full use of the Flight control, gyro and Governor even with an external receiver. You only lose direct transmitter control of one of the three gains.
